Kyokushin students assembled at a Brisbane tournament

A working dojo in Paddington

THE DOJO

A place for serious, consistent practice under Shihan Dominic Hopkins and the International Karate Organization Kyokushinkaikan.

01

Kyokushin Brisbane

Karate as a lifelong practice

Firm in spirit.
Honest in training.

Kyokushin Brisbane is not a fitness franchise or a belt-production line. It is a dojo in the traditional sense: a place in which the way is studied through repeated practice.

Training develops technique, strength and endurance, but the work extends beyond physical ability. Courtesy, perseverance, self-control and humility are expected from every student.

Beginners train within the same culture as senior students. Everyone progresses at an individual pace, while the standards of the dojo remain consistent.
